Dr. Jason Phan
BDSc (Hons), MClin Dent FRP (London)
Principal Dentist
Dr. Jason is a compassionate and highly skilled dentist who holds a Master of Clinical Dentistry in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics from King’s College London, one of the world’s top universities.
Growing up in South-East Queensland, Dr. Jason brings extensive dental experience, notably from his time in the Wide Bay region. With advanced training in crowns, bridges, dentures, and implant-supported treatments, he is dedicated to restoring smiles and confidence through personalised, high-quality care.
Dr. Jason excels at creating natural-looking, long-lasting results, ensuring every patient feels comfortable and understood. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys challenging himself with new hobbies and improving his tennis skills.
Dr Jen (Zheng) Phan
Principal Dentist
Dr. Jen (Zheng) graduated from The University of Queensland together with her husband Jason. They moved to the Wide Bay region before settling down in the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
Zheng is a very friendly clinician who will make you feel comfortable in the clinic. She loves treating patients of all ages and her gentle and caring disposition is especially great with younger children. Zheng aims to make your visit a pleasant and positive experience, even for the most anxious patients.
In her spare time, Zheng enjoys the outdoors and has fallen in love with the plentiful camping and hiking opportunities the great outback has to offer. She also loves spending time with their golden retriever Thor and you will probably spot her walking their fur baby along the esplanade! (Please say hi!)
Dr Calvin Kundi
Senior Associate Dentist
Dr Calvin, a graduate with multiple distinctions from Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, one of the world’s top dental institutions, brings extensive dental experience from his time in London. Originally from the UK, he now resides on the Sunshine Coast, seamlessly merging professional expertise with a vibrant lifestyle.
Dr Calvin is dedicated to providing exceptional patient experiences, focusing on clear communication and a warm, welcoming environment. He takes pride in ensuring a relaxing atmosphere for his patients.
Outside of dentistry, he finds joy in travelling, football, cooking, Formula 1, and badminton — reflecting his commitment to a balanced and fulfilling life.
Our Story
We’re Dr Jason and Dr Zheng, a husband and wife team dedicated to providing exceptional dental care with a personal touch.
Our journey into dentistry began with a shared passion for helping others achieve healthy smiles. After completing our dental degrees with honours from the University of Queensland, we started our career together in rural Queensland. We started with helping the community in the public sector where Dr Jason later operated his own successful practice in Maryborough, Queensland.
Driven by a shared commitment to excellence and a desire to create a warm, welcoming environment for our patients, we decided to combine our expertise and open our own practice. Now with a growing young family with two daughters, we decided to move closer to Brisbane and ended up in the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Thus, Dentistry First was born, a place where cutting edge dental technology meets compassionate, personalised care.
